Industrial filtration began with woven filter media in shaker baghouses. However, due to relatively large pore sizes of woven filter media, these systems were beset by high emission rates and low operating hours.
The advent of needlefelts and pulse jet baghouses led to a dramatic reduction in emission rates and significant increase in filter bag operating hours. But then inauguration of fluidized bed and stoker combustion systems led to the generation of even finer particles, causing standard needlefelts to suffer from reduced service life, higher pressure drops and higher emission rates.
The development of PTFE membranes caused a major transformation in the filtration industry. Because laminating these to needlefelt and woven filter media substrates diminished pore sizes, leading to significant reduction in emission rates, extended service life and reduced pressure drops.
The drawback with the state of the PTFE membrane industry is significantly higher prices, thereby mitigating against the widespread extrapolation of this powerful emission abatement technology.
Which is why Technical Felts and our partners have made it our mission to furnish technically certified PTFE membrane laminated filter media and filter bags to the filtration industry at relatively more affordable prices. Our APEX brand has made significant inroads in every corner of the globe. But we shall not waiver in our commitment to make it pervasive in every industry globally.

Throughout these pages, we shall provide technical certification from accredited laboratories to support the fact that emission rate, service life and pressure drop of our APEX Membrane products are equivalent or superior to those generated by other brands.
We shall also highlight major orders and achievements, beginning with the official award of the order for 4460 APEX Glass membrane bags by AAF International for the Polysius-built cement plant in Honduras. Congratulations to all team members for making possible this great achievement.
